My Brent Cross

North London’s Brent Cross is home to the UK’s first stand-alone shopping centre, opened in 1976.

It seems that not much has changed since then; the topography of the surrounding landscape may be dictated by consumerism and easy access to the centre, but the glitz and glamour of shopping culture can be hard to find, dominated as it is by a maze of concrete flyovers and sometimes crumbling underpasses.

However, an imminent regeneration programme means the area may soon start to change. This project is an attempt to document the area and its people before that happens.
